That depends. Reading a file like that could be very helpful, but it could also be very upsetting. Are you in a situation right now where you can handle it?
A long time ago, I requested my file from the hospital I had been at (for about a week) a decade before. When I read it, it enraged me. I was surprised by my reaction. It was quite upsetting. I did get over it, but it took some work to get through it.
