If you started the Effexor on your own and set the dosage yourself, that might be part of the problem.

Call your doctor, be persistent, get help. Whether or not the doctor prescribed the Effexor this time around, he/she needs to know what's going on.

You probably shouldn't mention what happened with that toddler. It's past, nothing came of it, and it's not the doctor's business at this point. Nothing right now is more important that you and getting help.
