At least it's an issue now

I saw articles in two different cities about police receiving training in how to identify people with mental health issues, and how to safely treat them.

There maay be a long way to go, but at least it's an issue they're trying to grapple with.

I think negative expectations are a proplem everywhere. My friend who died after going into a coma was sent home twice by the ER as being in a drug induced state that she needed to sleep off. Obviously without any tests to determine what she supposedly on. I got frantic calls because her family assumed that I would know if she was taking anything. I did know. She was taking nothing. But it was another day before they admitted her and discovered that she wasn't on anything.
