After a million 12 step meetings of many kinds, I have to LOL at this. Sometimes Dr. Laura irritates, but this is an example of her sharpness. Three cheers, Dr. Laura, and three cheers for your reference, (((Dinah)))

In 12 step parlance saying I'm sorry and my asking for forgiveness is not going to improve anything... However, asking for acceptance of my unconditional apology laced with a stated plan for making amends, does get the job done. I don't get the feel-goods of being forgiven nor getting to placate with an "I'm sorry".

Moral, if you make exchanges at the feel-good level, you get what you pay for, hot-air and ripped off, eventually.
