Admittedly, I've got a shoe thing. For one thing, a friend of mine had this theory that you could tell all you needed to know about a man by his shoes, so I got pretty sensitized to them while asking her to assess every good looking man we saw when we were out.

Dr EyeCandy started out with the same pair of black Clark's Desert Boots. That was a little weird -- definitely telling to me, having advanced training in the language of shoes on men -- but not a deal breaker. Now he's got the same pair of really awful, cheap looking brown sneaker/oxford things. They're awful. And yes, I can't help focussing on them every time I see him. How bad are they? They're actually so bad he might have to change his name. Maybe something like "Dr Really-Needs-Professional-Help-With-Shoes."

This thread does have me thinking, though. And I have learned some things about myself. (Dinah, your posts about your T's sockless ankles have given me one of the only brighter moments in days. Thank you.) I can work with less than gorgeous therapists and doctors, but there are some things that I'd really have trouble with. I think the ankles in question would count. Our marriage counselor wears a toe ring, which I tend to focus on during out sessions these days. (I'm just not able to make eye contact for more than a second or two at a time right now. Very withdrawn.) I haven't mentioned it at all, but I have mentioned and complimented some of her other jewelry. Costume/Art type pieces, and often quite pretty in a very casual way. (I've got a few pieces of costume jewelry, but mostly just the more formal stuff: pearls, diamond studs, the like.)

Anyway, I guess I'm typing more for the feeling of contact than anything else, so I'll stop now. Great thread, though.
