work and triggers

Posted by pegasus on February 7, 2004, at 14:02:23

Hi terrics,

Sorry you're having such a rough time. I agree with what Dinah said about it being pretty common to feel incompetent about work. I feel that all the time too, and some days I just hate hate hate to go in. But maybe you can think of some things that you can do well at work? Maybe if it's a really bad day, can you give yourself permission to focus on the stuff you feel more comfortable with at work? I find that helps me, if it's a really bad day.

I also agree with Dinah about sleeping instead of cutting. I find that *sometimes* if I crawl into bed and just decline to participate in life, I can keep myself from injuring myself until I feel better. I don't know if you have anyone at home, but hibernating like that also gives my husband a clue about my distress, without freaking him out.

(((terrics)))
