Doxy is a very good anti inflammatory. It is sometimes prescribed in doses not effective against bacteria, for the anti inflammatory effect only. Doses such 25mg, 50mg.

The immediate improvement you felt could also be a common pattern in Lyme. That is, the drug immediately paralyzes the lifestyle of the bugs, which brings about immediate improvement in symptoms. But they haven't died yet. When that happens, things will change. Usually somewhere in the 3rd day to 2 week period. I'm curious to see if you will get the Herx in that expected timeframe or if you will not get one. Will be interesting.

I too felt immediate improvement on Doxy. In a few days I was in trouble though.
