Lysine And/Or L-Glutamine really helping me sleep

Posted by sregan on April 8, 2007, at 21:20:07

I take about .25 klonopin before bed every night so either of these might be augmenting that. But I'm taking (on empty stomach) 500 mg of Lysine then 5-10 minutes later 750 mg of L-Glutamine. I'm hoping the Lysine will block the NMDA Glutamate receptor. I know L-Glutimine is converted to Glutamate and GABA. So I believe I'm getting a GABA boost without the Glutamate.

The result has been deep refreshing sleep much like on the nights when I take Flexeril (every 3-4 days as not to tolerate). I'm hoping its not just temporary. Its been working for a week so far. If someone else might try it and report if it helps them. I'd love to hear it.

Shawn
