Most doctors aren't very receptive to this condition. Ed'O Flaherty posts on here and he's the first doctor I've know to accept the condition. Most doctors seem to either not have heard or it or think it's pseudo science.
I'm still skeptical about the condition personally. I've trawled pubmed and not found anything much at all about the condition. Best thing to do is to check a few sites on the net and see what you make of it.
Larry Hoover has this to say about Pyroluria >
"With all due respect to Dr. O'Flaherty, the Pfeiffer folk (Walsh et al), and others, the disorder designated as pyroluria is a theoretical construct. The finding of pyrroluria (it really ought to have two rr's) is one thing. It's a real empirical measurement. The implications (the disorder designated as pyroluria) is a theory. I cannot find corroborative medical or biochemical evidence for the theoretical form of pyroluria."
