Hello, well I just looked it up in one of my nutrition books
("optimum nutrition for the mind" b y patrick holford, for those interest)
It says:
Are your mental health problems are strongly stress related, and the symptoms below apply to you, you may be pyroluric:
nausea or constiptation
white spots on fingernails
Pale skin that burns easily
frequent colds and infections
stretch marks
irregular menstration
impotency
crowded upper front teeth
poor tolerance of drugs and alcolhol
poor dream recallIf you score five or more you may be pyroluric. You can test this by having a urine test for kryptopyrroles. If high, you need more zinc and B6.
Apparently the urine test is inexpensive, easy and i would reckon you should be able to get it done at your doctors. The condition itself is apparently genetic and (I suppose therefore) runs in families.
ranges of zinc and b6 - (for pyroluria):
b6 100mg-500mg
zinc 25mg-50mgKind regards
Meri
