We might disagree on my board, but you're absolutely right: there wasn't much incivility, there were never character based attacks, and when disagreements got heated, we still managed to remain "friends". I think it might be worth a try.

I admit things there, in the relative privacy of an anonymous handle, that would be impossible in person, and it gives me a chance to get feedback and support at a time in my life when I am isolated from most all other sources of that. If that's an idea of what other mini-boards might provide, that idea has my vote.
