that sounds really rapid and probably a recipe for bad discontinuation problems.

Some people do better switching to a roughly equivalent dose of Prozac and then tapering off that. Prozac has a half life of 5 weeks or something crazy like that, so tapers aren't as painful.

I don't know a whole lot about SSRI tapers. I think alternative health people have supplement suggestions you might want to google. 7 years on a psych drug means the brain has adapted, and getting it back to a more normal state is going to take some time.
