I can relate to the long wait you are going through. First time I tried Nardil it took 2 months before it started working. I'm glad the Dr. told me to keep taking it even though I couldn't feel it working. Emsam, like other MAOI's generally take longer to kick in than other AD's. You will feel the stimulating side-effect on the first or second dose. This can be deceiving. The real AD effects take weeks or months.
I'm currently on Emsam 6mg. patch and Vyvanse 30mg. Since Emsam is so stimulating this combo is redundant but tolerable and effective if it doesn't make you over stimulated.
Rhodiola may be an option. I recall taking it with MAOI before. Not sure if the safety status has changed with these 2 combined.
I read that 5http "may be" safe to take with a MAOI. Get a professional opinion about that too.
