My experience though not depressed but depressed with issues of home life and heath I did find risperdal to help with clearer thinking and to keep me calm when turmoil was around me such as 4 grandkids running around with 2 puppys, homework needing to be done, snacks made and kids arguing, it normally stressed me out to tears almost but I found an inner calm and strength and quietness within and I didn't argue with hubby and grown kids and definitely didn't thrown things and was able to walk away when irritated. I did read several reviews I this med and I found so many that says it helps their depression
