0.25-0.50 Risperidone is actually the first add-on to antidepressants most psychiatrists will prescribe for depression and/or anxiety that is hard to manage with antidepressant and benzodiazepine medication alone. If it doens't work, they try lithium. And if that doesn't work also, then they switch around doses. If that still doesn't work when anxiety is the main issue, they recommend higher dose antipsychotics, atypical or typical. For depression, it's zap time!
