The current UK wholesale price for TEVA's olanzapine 10mg tabs is less than £3.50 for 28 tablet pack. This works out at just over $5. Lots of other manufacturers make olanzapine tablets and many are less expensive.

Generic drug companies make oodles of money because they don't have to invest money in research and development. I'm sure their profit margins are quite high. They can afford to sell their products cheaper, but why should they if the market will bear the inflated prices they charge? The generic drug market doesn't seem to operate as if competition were a factor. I don't know what's going on.Pharmaceutical companies charge US citizens the cost of their R & D so that they can sell their products cheaper elsewhere.
