Thanks all for the responses. The drug is an anti-fungal and is the active ingredient in Nizoral shampoo (that is, ketoconazole is).

I don't think I have Cushings. I think that something--high-dose SSRIs, depression, Provigil, benzo use--something--has caused me to be very sensitive to sudden spikes in cortisol levels. So if I can even out the spikes, or reduce them once they occur, I hopefully will feel better.

I'm steadily better on 3.75mg of mirtazapine after not being able to take any other antidepressant because they made me depressed. (This was a sudden shift after years of taking 110mg of Prozac and other high doses of SSRIs.)
