I do not think bio ids are any better nor worse than what was already available and many, if you are getting the real deal, are synthesized in much the same processes. In general, it's animal versus plant sources so I find the bio id stuff a bit confusing as I also find the alternative testing of hormones confusing and somewhat misleading according to my knowledge.
The question of whether their use is effective and the risk versus benefit profile is worth it is going to be individual. The big question would be:
Do you feel a big improvement in your symptoms?
Has the use of supp. hormones dramatically changed the thoughts and behaviors that you wished to change?
