I am seeing a psychiatrist (actually have seen 4 over the last 15 years- 2 out of state before I moved and 2 in state- only 1 was really "bad" in my opinion). I have also been in therapy for 17 years- sometimes intensive therapy and sometimes outpatient and less intensive. The reason for the extensive list is due to trying to find a medication that would work and maintain its effectiveness. The SSRI's "pooped out" quickly and other medications never really lived up to expectations or had such horrible side effects it wasn't an option (I can't tolerate zyprexa, abilify, geodon, etc). Anyway, I am currently taking vyvanse, librium, and lunesta..... and seeing a therapist, a doctor, and a psychiatrist.... All medications were prescribed by a psychiatrist who is trying to help me feel better and is open to options that may help. I guess that is why I turned here- to check with others (to see if anyone else has been in my shoes- and found something that worked).
