In fact, as taurine is a substrate for monoamine oxidase, your plan to start using an MAOI might give you a stronger effect from the taurine you do use. Rodent studies have shown pretty substantial increases in brain taurine concentration on use of both MAO-A and -B inhibitors.

What effects should one expect from taurine? I had a search around and it mentions on wiki that there is no evidence that it is energy giving despite being in energy drinks. I havn't been able to find the stuff by itself yet but i've been trying to find out what it is in energy drinks that gives me the energy to do stuff and a bit of a buzz.. Ive tried taking all the vitams listed in the drink along with caffiene tablets... the only thing i can see left is taurine or inositol (which i can only find in 50mcg tablets where the energy drinks seem to average around 50mg)
