right from a kid had seriously bad anxiety, battled on . numerous stress illness,s doctor used ativan only in extreme anxierty mabey over 30 years ago when it first came out.12 1mg tabs for a weeks course , take them as i like i would get no more for months. if didnt work turn to depression.
So anxiety barely treated, sorry to hear.
battled through by self medecation.later persuaded by lady doc to take A.Ds never do it before silly but true.tried loads at different strenths very misunderstood in them days. felt worse most of the time . then prozac worked . didnt need loz 2 years till pooped tried more with loz back up , no go.
At this point, IMHO, I would NOT let them take away loz. You obviously need it. What about adding another SSRI instead of Prozac, like Zoloft.

How about you bring him/her ideas? I really feel your safer doing your own research (no self medicating!) and bring ideas to GP than trust Hospital again!sent me to hospital to see shrink.canceled appointments an long waiting in between f/cked my head. had plenty of loz at home ,it creapt up to 10 they stopped working drank bottle brandy a day that combo would kill a rino nerver even touched me.appointment at hospital a new shrink stopped 10 loz in one go cold turkey, put me on 75mg velafaxine an 6 mg valium , went home had anxiety attack nearly died son gave kiss of life . next night overdosed had enough of this sh*t,drank bottle brandy puked the lot on the bedroom wall wife called ambalunce, in hospital the tw*t put the velafaxine to 225mg, lay on shower floor for days in a ball letting cold water run on me as sweat matched the speed of the water.let out after a week worse that wheni went in .no backup shakeing like a ready to pack life in drank vodka to stable my shakes .
UNBELIEVABLE. Glad you're o.k. They took you off loz dose COLD TURKEY? Then increased a med obviously making you sick. I feel sick hearing it. Stick with your GP.
GP saw me put me back on 4mg loz an lowered venlafaxine an saved my life ,i stabled on 4loz after a time . so really i shed 6 loz and abottle of brandy in 3 months but i carnt lose the last 4loz it was to much after that epic battle. so thats what i take now plus 40mg cymbalta my main illness is anxiety that leads to depression the end. MANIC666Well, thats quite a story. Sounds simple, but it seems since you DID respond to Prozac, your more likely than the rest of us to respond to SSRI.
Why on earth are you going back to the hospital? Can you cancel and just see GP? Can he/she prescribe the loz and A/D's? I need to reread Hospital post. Get back to me on questions about GP, what they can/can't prescribe.
Will GP continue to see you for depression/anxiety? If not, can GP write note to HDoc that you REQUIRE loz? and that you did very well with Prozac? Stay well and calm, no drinking?, so they don't admit you to hospital.
Stay calm, easy for me to say I know. Btw-is Cymbalta working at all? If not, I'd look for SSRI that works on anxiety, too. I hear Medline is a good sight. Connected to NIH or NIMH, might try those as well. If nothing else, try search and find sights connected to US Hospitals. I'll check around here, too. Talk soon.
