It's something I've been thinking about for a while. My last pdoc was a fresh graduate and I suspect I've actually been using and researching meds, and even working with and listening to other people who are taking meds for longer than he has. He was the only pdoc who was very hostile to me having any sort of involvement and hadn't a clue about MAOIs. When I asked for Parnate he prescribed 30mg isocarboxazid (Marplan) and when he saw my expression he said "that's Parnate isn't it?". Oh well...........
Yes, I do much better with meds I've elected to take rather than those that have been foisted upon me. I once stuck with moclobemide for six months just to please another young locum graduate. Never again.
