Well put... and its a biological instinct of sorts to be gregarious among most humans. The fear of being alone is linked to a very common fear of death. In the movie Donnie Darko (its a recent cult classic), he comes to terms with the idea that in the end, we are all alone. But that's the alone inside, there's the alone in general, the concrete alone that wants friendship and love and a significant other that transcends culture.
