Dying is rare, you're right. However the chance of a stroke and unilateral or bilateral neurological damage is higher. Its worse than death. Its immobilization and life debilitating. But I'm not trying to scare those on MAOIs who have proper instructions from their doctors, and who do not eat the foods that would make themselves vulnerable. As one pointed out, eating out is a difficulty and a pleasure lost. But if it is necessary to come to an MAOI -- well, that's between you and your doctor
