Hi Matt.
What the abstract is saying is that Prozac makes Xanax stay in the body longer, but does not do this to Klonopin. The interaction is modest at best.
Prozac acts to inhibit (slow-down) an enzyme called CYP450-3A. Ordinarily, this enzyme acts to metabolize (break down) Xanax so that the body can eliminate it (clearance). Prozac prevents this from happening to some degree.
