The commonly used pyridoxine hydrochloride may be ineffective in some people, due to poor phosphorylation, so some people find P-5-P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) more useful. Also, high niacin intake can provoke hyperhomocysteinemia in some individuals. It becomes a matter of balancing hyperlipidemia against hyperhomocysteinemia, if you're also using niacin as a drug.
