Paxil should block the worst of Effexor's withdrawal symptoms :-) Unfortunately, Paxil itself can have bad withdrawal symptoms! Fluoxetine (Prozac) is usually relatively easy to withdraw from in comparison to the other SSRIs. Has your son/daughter tried Prozac? What is s/he being treated for? Depression? Anxiety? What side effects did s/he have on Effexor?
