Many drugs are used to what you call "poentiate" another.So where as a certain drug might not be taken for ITS own specific benifit its taken caused its shown on occasion to jump start,kick,nudge or whatever other term ud like to use another med.
Some very common ones,esepcialy with both MAOIS are ..........
Pindolol
Lithium
Certain Benzos
Certain Anti-psychotics
Certain stimulants......i.e Ritalin/dexadrine/modfanil
Now some meds are prescribed along a AD cause they are needed,such as a benzo,simply to control anxiety.
This can be different than augmenting,for instance i do not believe im adhd,i never took ritalin as a child,i cant tolerate it now alone,HOwever when i added it to parnate i was finaly able to get some response back,which is what i have now.
Many people find lamictal to potentiate meds,personaly i found it halted my parnate and made me feel much worse,this is why its so tricky messing around with all these god awful drugs.
