I have suffered from unipolar depression for the past 40 years. I have tried most antidepressant families and found them to be ineffective. ECT was also ineffective. Two and a half years ago, I finally started Nardil at 30 mg per day. It was a wonder drug. I am now at 90 mg per day, the highest dose my psychopharmacologist is comfortable with.
I am starting to get breakthrough depression on the order of two or three times a week. I will be discussing augmentation strategies with my psychopharmacologist in a few weeks, but I know his preference is lithium. Lithium was a disaster for me a few years ago as an augmentation agent, and I do not want to try it again. Does anyone have experience with other augmentation agents and Nardil? My time is running out. Thanks.
