Right now the max dosage for anafranil is 250mg. I was on 275mg for six years and the side effects were completely tolerable: dizziness when standing too quickly, dry mouth, constipation, sexual dysfunction was limited to delayed ejaculation, and some dizziness.
It worked great for my obsessional ocd. I was taking 1.5 mg klonopin concurrently. The only problems I encountered occurred when I withdrew from the meds without tapering.
