Sure is a difference. The "CR" stands for "Controlled-Release" which sends (should) out a steady release of the Paroxetine HCI throughout the day without having to dose a few different times a day....Alot of meds. have gone the CR route, Xanax and Adderall to name two off the top of my head, so that dosing is minimal throughout the day instead of having to remember if you took that 3rd pill or not.

Hope i've made sense here. I am on Paxil CR (never on the reg./standard version) myself.
