I started taking my adderall XR 30 mg QD again two weeks after major surgery, when I was still taking Oxycontin 20 mg/BID for postsurgical pain.
This was a fairly potent amphetamine/opiod combo, (though by no means the maximum daily dose of either drug)--and I felt like superman. TWO WEEKS out of thoracic surgery (full pericardiectomy for constrictive pericarditis)and I'm working long hours from home and faxing in work to my office. I was on fire. I felt so good--painfree, lucid, and euphoric (but calm and sustainable-- not like a recreational high).

I had about 10 days of Oxycontin left after I re-started my regular Adderall dose and I felt better (and did more work) in those 10 days than I've ever felt before (even though the entire left side of my upper torso had been sliced open two weeks prior).

Then I ran out of Oxy, the pain came back, and I was in hell for two months.
