hello there, chemist here....you are talking about diffrent classes of drugs. within the benzodiazepine and benzo-derivative family, diazepam is quite powerful in relation to others, with notable exceptions being midazolam and triazolam (although i'm sure will be continued debate over this....). seconal and nembutal are barbituates, not benzodiazepines. quaalude is methaqualone, and is netiher a benzodiazepine or a barbituate. the poster was asking about anxiolytics - benzodiazepines - and thus discussing more sedating (and dangerous) drugs was moot, in my opinion. all the best, chemist
