I have to agree with Tony I have been on effexor for almost a year and I gave up drinking completely, I don't even have a social drink. Having suffered from depression all my life and drinking to cope made me look at things in a more realistic way. Why drink?? I'm on the meds they make me feel better why resort to alcohol I might as well throw in the towel to living a normal life.
