I average 3.75 mg daily (the range being 2.5 - 5.0 mg).

Six months. I put up with the akathisia because at least I felt alive; Zyprexa made me feel dead.

Try 2.5 mg daily to start. It now comes in 5 mg tablets which can easily be split with a good pill cutter.
