I gained lots of weight while I was on effexor (75 mgs/day for 6 mos.) But I don't think it was the drug as much as my apathy about everything while I was on it. Does that make sense? I mean it didn't make me hungry... I just didn't have much passion or resolve about sticking to a diet. Now that I'm trying to get off, I'm eating more because my head and stomach feel weird... like I'll be sick if I don't have something in my stomach. They list anorexia as a possible symptom while you're on it AND while you're withdrawing... no such luck for me!!
