I have depersonalization episodes and visual illusions on and off. The pdoc prescribed Seroquel to make them go away ... and they did but it also turned me into a zombie.... so I stopped taking them and decided to live with the illusions as they are better than the med side effects.
I have also found that I sort of feel the episodes comming. When I do, I grab something ... a pen, a ruler, my chair or whatever and squeeze it super hard ... to the point of pain ... and it helps me stay there ... and sometimes the episode will stop altogether.
I also find that they are more common if I'm tired ... so I try to get some sleep.
