My experience has been somewhat similar when it comes to an MAOI (for me, Parnate) and Wellbutrin. I will say that as a bipolar patient, it might have been a little overkill. I turned pretty hypomanic and at times during the day, would feel like I would after a 4-day speed binge (without sleep)--I would REALLY ADD, almost twitchy, and felt like I would fall out at any moment.

Anyway, I added the Wellbutrin to the Parnate because I was exhausted on the Parnate. I've heard that Parnate is supposed to be stimulating...does this happen after a month or so of being on it? Also, Parnate has caused me hypertension instead of hypotension--hypertension of late (which Wellbutrin does NOT exacerbate)...anyone with this experience?

Has anyone tried Provigil instead of Wellbutrin? I'm just interested in the Wellbutrin because it affects dopamine which the MAO can't touch due to the MAOI. I know that Provigil is stimulating, but by a completely different mechanism...

I did add Depakote to the Wellbutrin and Parnate and this smooted things out a little--kept me from getting too wild :).
