Hey Shrimp,

I think it's the other way around, in that the Naril makes Wellbutrin more effective. I've compared the response I get from drugs (mostly psychotropic meds & 'recreational' drugs - please, no lectures) while both on Nardil, and and not, noticing a large increase in responsivness.

I have social phobia and I couldn't take the (initial?) anxiety that Wellbutrin brought on. It would easily throw me into a panic attack. Although I just might try it again and see if maybe I can handle it (we're all different) I seem to be very tolerant with the drug and food interactions as far as hypertension goes.

It's funny you mention that you could fall asleep standing up @ 5pm. I'm also on a clock like you and at about 5pm exactly I'm so ready to crash. Then at night I have horrible insomnia! That part really gets to me as I'm finding it hard to make it and stay at a job. I've read on here from some it goes away with time.

I'm currently on 60mg and have been steady at that dose for a month. I don't feel the need to increase since my mood is fine and handle social situations with almost no signs of prior anxiety, that part is an absolute blessing to me. I also don't tend to beat myself up so much and finding it easier to think of something positive to put things into perspective.

I unfortunately don't have a doctor out here in L.A. and the only way I get meds are through my doctor back at home. He trusts my judgement enough to call in anything he can legally through state lines. The amphetamines I have used were some left over dexedrine from a prescription over a year ago. I also very occasionally have to obtain drugs through what is otherwise known as "illegitimate" sources unfortunately. This obviously shows that if I have left over, and haven't touched them in a year there's no 'addiction' there. I really don't think that's something you have to worry about. Just be educated about the positives as well as the negatives. Also, think about it... we're on Nardil, and for me it's been a life-saver of sorts. If possible I plan to stay on it as long as it works, even if that means life. Is this an addiction?... More like a treatment untill there's a cure. Although I suppose, like they say - everyone is different and if your doctor has personal reasons from withholding I appologize. Anyways I'd REALLY like to stear clear from that topic 'cause we can really be opening a can of worms there.

Now back to the dizzy/fainting spells. Has this just started or woresened after adding Wellbutrin? How long have you been on Nardil? I really think Wellbutrin is contributing to the orthostatic hypotension. If at all possible, I suggest cutting that out of the mix for a bit, let your body readjust to 'normal', so your blood pressure and whatever else may be reacting can regulate to how it was before augmenting. Regardless, while on Nardil you will still most likely have to practice getting up a bit slower than usual.

I think maybe your motivation issue might be related to the fatigue Nardil can cause. I used to go to the gym 6 days a week, but now I find it hard making it up the steps to my apartment. I really, really hope that subsides, I want to get back the muscle I've lost. Folding sheets makes my muscles soar! (thinking outloud -I really need to get insurance and a doctor soon about that.) Have you also noticed weakness or soarness in muscles? Thearapy may also help you with motivation.

I guess I've been lucky and have been weight neutral on Nardil (so far at least). Though through reading posts for a good while and personal experience I've noticed that unlike weight gained on SSRI's where it's practically beyond your controll and resistive to any exerciseing or dieting short of anorexia Nardil weight gain is centered around appetite and can be controlled through proper diet and exercise.

If you would like you can email me: ppgt94@hotmail.com I'd love to chat on instant messenger or something about this. Best wishes.

-Carlos
