Melley, i agree with your comment about how doctors should try other stuff first. Effexor seems pretty heavy-duty to me, in comparison to other AD's I tried. Paxil & Welbutrin both worked well for me UNTIL I stopped taking them. That was my fault, and they never seemed to work as well when I started up on them again. Folks, please be careful when you decide you are ok enough to just stop taking the AD's. You might regret it later.
