Do mood-stabilizers help with acute deppression?

Posted by michael73 on February 12, 2003, at 3:16:34

I cycle (maybe bipolar II) and my pdoc wants me to try a mood-stabilizer. I also have OCD. I've recently dipped into a bad depression. At it's worse it feels like the inside of my head is bleeding. Might a mood-stabilizer help with such a depression? I'm not concerned about my upswings. I only have problems with feeling "to good" on AD's. I thought it would be worth a try to try a different class of med. Michael73
