I gained about 25 pounds on Paxil, but only after about 8-9 months had passed. Then all of a sudden I was hungry and sleepy ALL the time. I now think that was a sign that the medication wasn't working right anymore because the first several months were fine.

Paxil is the most notorious AD for weight gain and sleepiness. Something about anti-cholergenic effects.

Try Prozac. I had the least problems with it. Celexa and Effexor were great at first, but caused hypomania. So if you take one of those, watch out for the signs of hypomania. I wish my psychiatrist had warned me of that effect and had noticed the signs in me before I spent over $30,000!
