Alcohol and Effexor

and I just learned the alcohol competes for the some of the same liver enzymes that Effexor is metabolized with. This means that when you drink, alcohol may have more of an effect as your liver will take a bit longer to metabolize it, or you won't metabolize Effexor as fast and there may/may not be some associated side effects with that.

In addition, the metabolic product of Effexor is similar to tricyclic antidepressents which can be hard on the circulatory system....something to watch out for as long-term clincal studies come out.
