I have been on Effexor (300mg/day) for 2 years+; I have never noticed any effect it has on drinking. I'm a frequent drinker. What I generally take are: Merlot, Japanese sake, beer and brandy. May be the effect differs individually. One side note: I never mix drinks - If I am on brandy I would take nothing else except brandy that night. Hope it helps
