I want to go up to 80mg celexa but the clinic said it wasn't a good idea.........why ? When I feel so much better?

the highest dosage recommended for celexa is 60, and that's rare. 40 is the normal one, and even though other anti depressants can go up to as much as 200 mg.. not all of them are the same. upping a dosage isn't going to make you euphoric or better off, sometimes they just have to test your tolerance. My friend's old doctor was upping her paxil dosage to a much higher level than it should exceed, and she had serotonin syndrome..

try not to expect too much from an SSRI. It's supposed to take the edge off, not make you euphoric.
