> You are awesome. I am printing all your info. I think I must fall into the slowed metabolism forever group. It wasn't that I dieted and stopped, I just ate almost nothing as my metabolism seemed slow to begin with. I think I stopped eating any breakfast at about age 10.My mother flipped, but the doc said I was healthy and stop worrying! Then I used to save my lunch money so I could buy records. I ate very little, but it was usually sugar. Dinner was whatever Mom fixed and whatever she put on the plate. No dessert. I worked out 5 days a week and every night I did exercises in my bedroom. I was never emaciated, was actually pretty toned and bigger than most of my friends. College hit and the food sucked. I had very little money, so again, I hit salads for lunch and whatever for dinner. I married a health/exercise nut and as small as I was it was never good enough for the hubby. So I joined a spa. Worked out 3 days a week, ate half a sandwich for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Skipped dinner about 2 nights a week. Years later I had kids, did the Slimfast thing to lose that weight and then went to serving the healthy 3 squares a day due to the kids. WHat happened was steady, gradual weight gain that did not come off until the hubby left us. What is it about divorce that causes instant no effort weight loss? I wasn't even aware of losing it. 25 pounds melted. Then due to some money that came in, I looked into a tummy tuck for my big bloated pot belly. They supposedly did lipo in the process, but you couldn't tell it by me. My new husband could not tell any difference. Since then I have gained 35 pounds. I am bigger than I was at full term pregnancy with the first kid! And I was definitely pregnant looking. I am at the biggest size I have ever had to wear, and I will have to say that weight gain depresses me. I am not a diagnosed depressive, but this makes me miserable. I long to lose at least 40 pounds now. I am 5'2" and that would put me at 125. I don't think that is too small at all. During the divorce I was 117. Any advice on what speeds up the metab would be welcomed by me. I have a nodule on my thyroid that seems bigger but have had 3 opinions on it and the bloodwork comes back normal. I am going to sign up with LOTL it sounds great. You gave me some good advice on the Topomax a while back, and I was actually considering taking it just to lose weight. Thanks Andre
