Your note was a pleasure to read, you are so honest and articulate. I've been where you are sigh (my dirtiest was sleeping with a plant in my bed for a week--the soil from it was all over the place).
To me, it sounds like you are on the wrong medications. If this is how you are on medications, they can't be working. I have been on so many medications (6 at one time once) and I wasn't much better off than you are now. Now I'm on one and it works. So my guess is that Step 1 for you is to find the right diagnosis and get on the right medication.
There is hope. After a life filled with various mental illnesses, I'm better. It will happen to you. Asking for help is always the beginning. I'm sure lots of people will come along after me to offer you some advice.
I'm glad you have the cats.
