We really are in lower Al. though, about 50 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. A beautiful city w/temperate winters and lovely old architecture, not to mention huge live oaks hanging w/spanish moss and a springtime azalea boom.
I was born here, we moved to Selma,Al.in '57 and lived there til '67.
A very interesting time to be in that little backwater.I had a great childhood there, swimming in creeks and hunting for snakes, always barefoot it seems.
Then back to Mobile for 14 years, then 3 years in New Orleans (one in the French Quarter) and 5 In Jacksonville, Fl. Then, back home to Mobile where family is gathering again as our parents age, and need us more. (I need them JUST as much.)
It's been good to be in the bosom of my family as health crises, births and deaths have occurred.
And, as to age (I missed that thread) I'm 44.
