Dani,

Hang in there! After some research on the web and a good deal of soul searching, I decided to quit Effexor cold turkey. I had been on 150 mg, and after a session with my Dr. Duh, I decided that I had better take control of my own well-being, rather than lay it in the hands of someone else. So I cold-turkeyed off the Effexor. Today is Day 13 off the drug, and I'm feeling a good deal better! Please believe me that I DO NOT recommend this approach for anyone, unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE that you can handle it. I went through the dizziness, the "electric brain shocks," and fatigue. I guess you could best describe the feeling as having the flu while going through the worst hangover of your life! But just hang in there -- it's worth it! Again, I don't recommend cold-turkey, but the symptoms do go away, once your body rids itself of the poisons.

I'm also taking a nutritional supplement that is supposed to cleanse the liver of toxins, which is vastly important since SSRI's are metabolized in the liver. That may have smoothed the way through the withdrawal as well. Be sure to drink lots of water to flush your system. You're doing great!

Vicki
