Re: Celexa vx. paxil and helping sleep

Celexa is thought to not be as activating as
Prozac nor as sedating as Paxil. All SSRI's
(Prozac, Celexa, Paxil, Zoloft and Luvox)
can disrupt sleep (or, if sleep is battered by
depression, they can improve sleep). Celexa
is said to be less disruptive but each person is
different (and each person reacts to each
SSRI differently). My rule is that if it helps
sleep, take it at night, if it makes it worse,
take it in the morning, and if it is intolerable,
try time or decrease the dose or add another
sleep agent.
